Meals

When your child is with us for a morning session they will receive a healthy snack and for children who attend for a full day a snack and lunch will be provided. Milk is available at snack and lunch times, and water is available throughout the session.

All meals or snacks are prepared and provided following the NHS ‘Setting the Table’ guidance.

We can cater for most dietary requirements and preference, if your child has any, please speak to a member of the team.

Clothing

We allow every child to learn through free flow play which includes messy play. We encourage everyone to wear aprons or waterproof suits but, we do ask each child to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.

As we go outdoors throughout the year, packing a spare change of clothes will make sure your child is prepared for the lovely Scottish weather. And if they’ve come to playgroup wearing wellies, then can you pack a spare pair of shoes or slippers for them to wear indoors.

Toileting

Your child doesn’t need to be potty trained to attend as all playgroups have child toilet facilities. If you’re potty training your child when they’re with us, speak to a member of the team as we can support you and your child with this.

We don’t supply nappies or pull ups, so you’ll need to send these to playgroup with your child. We do have wipes, nappy snack etc. If your child needs a specific brand of wipes, we ask that you please supply these.

Famly App

We use this app to share your child’s playgroup journey. We’ll upload photo’s that show your child socialising with other children and provide individual updates and photos for your own child too.

Log in details will be provided as part of your registration process. You can also add additional family members onto the app, so they can share in your child's progress. If you need any help using the app, please speak to a member of the team.

Absence

If for any reason your child is going to be off, we ask you to let us know via phone, text or on the family app.

If your child is off and we haven’t heard from you our team will contact, you to make sure everything is ok.

Settling In

We’ll always arrange a one-hour visit, this allows you and your child to come along explore the setting and meet the team.

Every child in our care has a personal plan, the team will go over this with you. Then take you on a tour of the playgroup and introduce your child to they’re playgroup routine.

As part of this visit, we’ll arrange a start date and if needed, a settling in plan for your child.
